Starting this year, OVGA giving out a new award, called the Hole Of The Week Hotshot. For each event, one hole will be selected to be the Hole Of The Week. This hole may be the toughest hole on the course, or an unusual hole, or one that can make or break a competitor's round. Throughout the year, the tour will be keeping track of the net score each competitor has on these holes, with the intention of compiling a 'best of' 9-hole score for that person. The tour will choose the best of two par 3's, two par 5's, and five par 4's for that competitor's Hole Of The Week performance throughout the year. The winner will receive a trophy and a gift certificate. Two venues will have three Holes Of The Week: Links at Grand Victoria, and The Grizzly at King's Island. These courses are being played twice, giving that person two chances at each of those Holes.
    So then, there will be 22 Holes Of The Week for everyone to play over the next 20 events. There will be 10 par 4s, and 6 each of par 3's and 5's. We will probably provide a sign for the tee box each week to remind everyone which hole has been selected. The first tiebreaker will be all Holes Of The Week played in common, followed by average Hole Of The Week score.

Oh, c'mon guys. It's not that confusing. lol. I'm going to take your best 9 Hole Of The Week performances and combine them into a 9-hole score. Whoever has the best such score after the Tour Championship will win the Hole Of The Week Hotshot award. The 9-hole score will consist of your best five par 4s, and best two of both Par 3s and par 5s.

I don't know if I want to publicize that my best 9 hole score is 115.

With 8 holes played and 14 more to go, I can finally post a leaderboard for the inaugural Hole Of The Week Hotshot contest. Let me state again that the final score will consist of the best five par 4's, and best two each of par 3's and 5's, so if your score doesn't look that good, your worst hole performance can always be replaced, and there are plenty of holes left to play. Day 2 at Grand Victoria made a huge difference for several players, allowing them to lower their score to this point, and our current leader lowered her score by three shots by playing the holes a second time. First, in order of par played so far:

Par 32
=====
Jeff Schlueter    -2
Phyllis Bare    Even

Par 29
=====
Kirt Kiser    Even

Par 28
=====
Evan Sliger    -5
Mark Bixler    -2
Mike Greivenkamp,
Richard Lakes,
Steve Brooks    Even

Par 27
=====
Karsten Klint    -2
David Hall    Even

Par 25
=====
Matt Johnson    -2
Steve Roderer    Even

Par 24
=====
Debbie Lakes    -7
Michael Frank    -4
Harry Bradley,
Colin Supe    -1
Scott Springer    Even

Par 23
=====
Janet Meyer    -1

Other players under par after at least 3 holes
==================================
Dan Johnson    -2 through par 19
Frank Kilgore    -2 through par 16
Larry Buskey    -1 through par 16

Here is the leaderboard after 10 holes. I have edited it for only the best 9, since we have now played 3 par 3 holes. You should also be getting a personal Hole Of The Week score shortly. There are 60 players who have played at least 5 holes, so this will take some time. In the list below, I might have missed a couple of you are net par.

Leaderboard through 10 holes (players having played at least 5 holes):

I made a correction to the leaderboard. Evan Sliger now leads with -6. Evan played Grand Victoria both days, carding two pars and a birdie on the three selected hole. With 4 handicap strokes, he was net -5 for those holes and now leads.

Darin,
I can probably make this really easy for you.  I'll start sending you the hole by hole for each tournament.  Sorry, with the new software I now have this ability.

As long as I get the course handicaps for each round, I'm fine with that.
