Announcing the Great Parks Championships

February 11th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Much like the World Golf Championships on the pro level, the OVGA will be bringing a second-tier group of tournaments to the tour this season.

Introducing the Great Parks Championships!  The four park courses (Miami Whitewater, Vineyard, Sharon Woods and Mill Course) will be hosting events this season and points earned during these events will go towards the Great Parks Cup which will be awarded to the player with the most points in these events.  Available conquest points for the GPC events will be raised as well over regular event levels.

The dates for the events:

April 19:  GPC Rebecca Maynard Memorial at Miami Whitewater

May 3:  GPC All-American Open at Vineyard

June 7:  GPC Casey McAlister Classic at Sharon Woods

September 14:  GPC Mill Course Invitational at Mill Course

The Hamilton County Park District will be supplying the winner with the trophy and a replica will be on display on a traveling basis between the four courses.

The Great Parks Championships are associated solely with the OVGA Tour and just another reason the OVGA is the best golf in town…any way you slice it!

Awesome idea! Kudos to whomever it was on the Board you came up with this one. I might actually have a shot at this trophy as I grew up on Hamilton County Golf Courses and I have ALWAYS played Winton Woods well!
